Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Leaf to Wing game (for iPhone and iPad, and for Android when it is released) and the website leaftowing.com collect, why, and the choices you have. Leaf to Wing is made by Baha Barış Ercan, an independent developer ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@leaftowing.com.
The short version
- There are no accounts. The game never asks for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or location.
- Your progress and settings are stored only on your device.
- We use Google Firebase to see how puzzles are played (for example, which levels are too hard), to receive crash reports, and to adjust game settings remotely.
- We use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure whether our ads bring new players. On iPhone, data is linked to your device's advertising identifier only if you allow tracking when the game asks. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland it sends nothing without your consent.
- The game is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, ads are personalized only with your consent.
- Leaf to Wing is meant for players aged 13 and over.
- We don't sell your personal information.

1. Information stored on your device
The game keeps the following data in the app's own storage on your device: which puzzles you've solved, your current level, settings (sound, haptics, reminders), hint credits, and your daily-gift streak. We don't receive this data. It is removed when you delete the app; you can also clear your progress in Menu › Settings › Reset progress. Because nothing is stored on our side, we can't restore progress after the app is deleted.
2. Information collected by our service providers
The game includes software development kits (SDKs) from Google and Meta. They collect the information below automatically when you play.
| Provider and purpose | What is collected |
|---|---|
| Google Analytics for Firebase (Google) Understanding how the game is played so we can tune puzzle difficulty, fix confusing moments and see whether players come back. |
Game events (for example: level started or finished, time spent on a level, number of moves, undos, restarts and hints, ads shown, daily gift claimed, whether reminders were allowed); an app instance ID; device model, operating system and app version; language; country or region derived from your IP address (Google Analytics doesn't store IP addresses); first launch and session times. The device's advertising identifier only if allowed (see Your choices). |
| Firebase Crashlytics (Google) Finding and fixing crashes. |
Crash traces, device model, operating system and app version, device state at the time of the crash (such as free memory and orientation), and a Crashlytics installation ID. |
| Firebase Remote Config and Installations (Google) Changing game settings without an update, such as how often ads appear or how many hints a gift contains, and testing variations of them. |
A Firebase installation ID, app version, language and country. |
| Meta SDK, App Events (Meta Platforms) Measuring which of our ads on Facebook and Instagram lead to installs and engaged players, and improving those campaigns. |
App installs and launches and a few game milestones (level achieved, tutorial completed, season completed, hint used); device information such as model, operating system, screen size, language and time zone; IP address; the device's advertising identifier only if allowed. We have turned off Meta's automatic collection of on-screen metadata. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the Meta SDK sends nothing unless you agree in the privacy choices form shown when you first open the game; you can change this at any time in Menu › Settings › Privacy choices. |
On iPhone, install attribution can also happen through Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork / AdAttributionKit, which does not reveal your identity to us or to ad networks. You can read how these companies handle data in the Firebase privacy information, the Google Privacy Policy and the Meta Privacy Policy.
3. Advertising
Leaf to Wing is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob: rewarded videos you can choose to watch for hint credits, and occasional full-screen ads between levels (not during the first levels). To serve, cap and measure ads and to prevent fraud, AdMob collects information such as your IP address, device and app information, how you interact with ads, and your device's advertising identifier. On iPhone and iPad the advertising identifier (IDFA) is used only if you allow tracking in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the game shows Google's consent form before ads are personalized, and you can change your choice at any time in Menu › Settings › Privacy choices. If you don't consent, you may still see non-personalized or limited ads. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
4. Your choices
- Tracking on iPhone and iPad. The game asks once, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether it may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the game and its SDKs won't access the IDFA or link your data with other companies' apps and websites for advertising. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Android. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (usually Settings › Privacy › Ads or Settings › Google › Ads).
- Personalized ads. Where Google's consent form is shown, you can accept or refuse, and change your mind later in Menu › Settings › Privacy choices.
- Reminders can be turned off in the game's settings or in your device's notification settings.
- Start fresh. Deleting the app removes your local data and resets the app instance and installation IDs used by Firebase.
5. Reminders
If you allow notifications, the game schedules gentle reminders (for example, that your daily gift is ready) on your device. They are local notifications: there is no push server and no notification token is sent to us. Analytics records only whether you allowed reminders and whether a reminder was used to open the game.
6. The website
leaftowing.com is a static website hosted by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and has no advertising trackers; fonts and images are served from our own domain. To count visits we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across sites and doesn't build a profile of you. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. The playable demo runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing to us.
7. When you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. Mail to leaftowing.com addresses is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to our mailbox, which is provided by Google (Gmail). We use your message only to answer you and to improve the game.
8. Legal bases (EEA, UK and similar laws)
- Legitimate interests: game analytics, crash reporting and remote configuration, so that we can keep the game working, fair in difficulty and free. We keep this data pseudonymous and don't use it to identify you.
- Consent: personalized advertising, ad measurement through the Meta SDK, ad measurement that relies on your advertising identifier, and reminders. You can withdraw consent at any time as described in Your choices.
- Contract and our legitimate interests: providing the game and replying to your messages.
- Legal obligation: when the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
9. Sharing and international transfers
We share information only with the service providers named in this policy (Google, Meta and Cloudflare), which process it to provide their services, and with authorities when the law requires it. App stores (Apple App Store, Google Play) handle downloads and any payments under their own privacy policies. We don't sell personal information.
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, it is protected by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions), the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful safeguards.
10. How long we keep data
- Google Analytics event data: 14 months. A raw daily export we use for difficulty research is deleted after 60 days.
- Crashlytics crash reports: 90 days.
- Meta App Events: according to Meta's own retention policies.
- Support emails: as long as needed to help you, and no longer than 24 months after the conversation ends.
- Data on your device: until you reset your progress or delete the app.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email support@leaftowing.com. Because the game has no accounts, the data our providers hold is tied to random identifiers, not to your name, so we may not be able to find it from your email alone. We'll explain what we can do and help as far as we can. The quickest way to cut the link is to delete the app and refuse tracking, which resets those identifiers. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
12. Age requirement
Leaf to Wing is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, for example by email, contact us and we will delete it. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live (up to 16 in some EEA countries), please ask a parent or guardian before allowing tracking or personalized ads.
13. Regional notes
United States and California
We don't sell personal information for money. Sharing device identifiers with advertising partners to measure or personalize ads can count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out by refusing tracking on iPhone, deleting your advertising ID on Android, declining personalized ads, or emailing us. We don't use sensitive personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Türkiye
For users in Türkiye, we process personal data as data controller under Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), for the purposes and on the legal grounds described above, including transfers abroad to the providers named in this policy. You can use your rights under Article 11 of the KVKK by writing to us at the address above.
14. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll also let you know in the game or on this website. Questions or requests: support@leaftowing.com.
